A 50-year-old man died after the car he was driving struck two other vehicles and a tree on Route 9 Sunday afternoon, according to Brookline police.
Police identified the victim as Jacques Ducrepin of Holliston. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but police say Ducrepin “may have suffered a medical episode.”
Ducrepin was driving with his wife when he crashed near Warren Street at around 2:40 p.m., police said in a news release. Both were trapped in the vehicle. After the Brookline Fire Department extracted the couple, they were transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where Ducrepin died. His wife is in stable condition and expected to survive, police said.
Three people from the two other vehicles were also transported to the hospital with less serious injuries, according to police.
