Thank you for your article regarding the Washington Street construction.
As a resident whose bedroom is overlooking the street, this has been a torturous and jarring experience.
The reason for the torture is because, until I read your article, there has been zero communication about the timeframe for this construction project. That lack of perspective has made this experience very difficult, thinking every day that this has to end soon, but it just relentlessly continues, starting at the earliest of morning hours with pounding, sawing, crashing.
The fact that I now know this will be going on, for an unbelievable five more months, at least gives me and your readers perspective, which helps. I wish that the town had given those of us affected a timeline from the outset.
Thanks to you, now I know that this intense roadwork won’t be ending tomorrow.
Much like the Big Dig residents, perhaps those of us along Washington Street should be getting noise buffers, of some kind, for our windows. I work nights and haven’t slept well in months.
