Local election day is May 6 in Brookline. Winners will be declared in contested races for the School Committee, Select Board and Board of Library Trustees, and Town Meeting members will be chosen in each precinct across town.

Brookline.News has published in-depth candidate profiles for the School Committee, Select Board and Board of Library Trustees races. It has also published Town Meeting candidates’ responses to a survey. Click here to see all of our coverage of the 2025 town election.

To vote, residents must register with the town online or by mail before Saturday, April 26. Here are the different ways to vote:

In-person early voting

Registered voters can cast their ballots early from Saturday, April 26 through Friday, May 2. Visit the town’s website to view the locations and schedule for early voting.

Mail-in voting

All registered voters are eligible to vote by mail. To do so, voters must submit a vote-by-mail application to the town clerk’s office by Tuesday, April 29 at 5 p.m. Applications can be submitted by mail, in person at the clerk’s office at Town Hall, in a ballot drop box at three locations across town, or by emailing the signed application to townclerk@brooklinema.gov.

If the application is submitted by mail, it must arrive at the town clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on April 29 — a postmark is not sufficient.

The town’s website has more information about mail-in voting.

In person on Election Day

On May 6, registered voters can cast their ballot in person at their polling place between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. To find your precinct and polling place, click here.
